Today, our new Pope Francis looked to the example of St. Joseph, our patron, as he begins his role as the Bishop of Rome. He asked us all to use St. Joseph as a model of Christian service saying, “In the Gospels, Saint Joseph appears as a strong and courageous man, a working man, yet in his heart we see great tenderness, which is not the virtue of the weak but rather a sign of strength of spirit and a capacity for concern, for compassion, for genuine openness to others, for love. We must not be afraid of goodness, of tenderness!”
Thanks again to Brother Mickey McGrath for expressing our hopes and prayers today better than I ever could. A picture IS worth a thousand words!
Happy St. Joseph’s Day,
